THE BIG DRAW CAYMAN ISLANDS - Oct. 1st - 31st
The BIGGEST Drawing Festival in the Caribbean!
BIG fun is underway again this October as Lady Rabia, in partnership with the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands and other local partners, come together to create a unique Family Arts Festival, providing a BIG opportunity for people of all ages to discover the joy and benefits of drawing.
October is Big Draw month in fifteen countries and over 200,000 people take part every year. Hundreds of new and enjoyable drawing activities connect people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists - and each other. These events are for those who love to draw, and those who think they can't.
Last year the Cayman Islands joined the campaign, becoming the first Caribbean country to join the international Campaign for Drawing.
BIG DRAW 2013 THEME - DRAW TOMORROW!
Draw Tomorrow 2013 invites you to explore the future. You might use a historic building to imagine future developments, or ask visitors to predict what museums and galleries will collect in 20/50/100 years' time. Or they may wish to design clothes, cities, transport or food fit for generations to come.
Why not focus on issues like climate change by projecting observations from nature? In schools or art clubs, you might use sketchbooks to record the year, leading to a collaborative mural in October - sharing today's stories with tomorrow's generations!
Whatever activity you do, think BIG!
